Cracovia – Lech 2:1
The Easter holidays weren’t as joyful as Lech’s squad and fans expected them to be. The team from Poznań lost to Cracovia 1:2 in an away league game on Easter Sunday and fell to the lower half of the table.
Both teams had been going through a crisis before the Sunday match, however, Cracovia was in a much more difficult situation – the team from Cracow hadn’t won a single game since December. Hence, Lech’s loss at Kałuża street was even more unexpected and painful, especially since the team from Poznań had a one-goal advantage in the first half. Mikael Ishak was the author of the goal – first, Michał Skóraś tried scoring but his the post, and then the Swedish striker beat the goalkeeper with a follow-up shot.
Cracovia managed to respond with a goal of their own before the referee announced halftime – Michal Siplak equalised in the last seconds of the first part of the match, and then Pelle van Amersfoort got Cracovia into the lead shortly after the break. Therefore, when the referee announced the end of the game, it was Cracovia that finally put an end to the series of poor performances, whereas Lech had another bitter pill to swallow. The inability to deliver also resulted in coach Dariusz Żuraw being officially let go by the club.
With 7 league games to go, Lech is ranked 10th in the table – 8 points behind the podium.
